In Bishkek, from September 21 to 24, was held the International Festival of Street Theaters, one of the largest festivals of street art in Kyrgyzstan. The event was organized by the theater «TEATR MESTO D…,» with the support of the Soros Foundation-Kyrgyzstan and the Bishkek City Hall.
During the four days several performances were held simultaneously in the Dubovyi Park and on the Erkindik Boulevard. The performances were repeated several times, so that the audience could see them all. More than 100 artists from different countries took part in the festival and the audience watched 30 performances a day.
The festival’s extensive program offered a variety of types and forms of performances in the open air by the artists of different genres: musicians, singers, poets, actors, dancers and pantomimes.
The purpose of the event is to unite all the Bishkek city population and to develop a careful attitude to the urban environment.
