Data Lab jointly with the Soros Foundation-Kyrgyzstan and Open Society Foundations organizes a two-day advocaton: “Right to health”.

The objective of the event is to promote “Open data in health care” initiative through an intensive study of open data, ways of collecting them, their interpretation and visualization. The outcome of advocaton should be advocacy campaigns aimed to improve access to life-saving medicines, prevention, treatment and care for vulnerable and marginalized populations, as well as mainstreaming of corruption in the health care system.

Participants will also be able to offer their own ideas for follow-up campaign to reduce stigma against vulnerable populations and on several thematic areas (palliative care, mental health, HIV/AIDS, the rights of drug-users and sex workers).

We encourage the NGOs staff, civil activists, designers, journalists, data analysts, PR specialists and IT specialists to participate in the event.

After intensive training on data advocacy, storytelling, data processing and visualization, communications the participants working in teams will develop their own data-based advocacy campaigns with the help of our trainers and mentors.

The team that has offered the best ideas and solutions will receive prize money of $1500. The teams that have taken the 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded prize money of $1000 and $500, respectively.
