On September 18th, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic signed an order approving the Concept for the development of the educational system of the Kyrgyz Republic with elements of media information literacy developed by a working group of experts in the field of education and media.
The Concept laid down the principal directions in reforming the education system within the framework of the digital transformation of the country reflected in the state program “Digital Kyrgyzstan 2019-2023”.
In particular, the foundations will be laid for the formation of a new type of electronic textbooks, training materials that meet modern standards, with multimedia texts and assignments. Particular attention will be paid to the digitization of libraries of national and local importance, museums, to make them more accessible to all, continuous professional improvement, taking into account new requirements and competencies.
The adopted Concept will lay the foundation for a complete reformatting of the education system so that young Kyrgyz citizens can receive a quality education that meets the requirements of a digital society.
