The Information Program of Soros Foundation-Kyrgyzstan announces competition among citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic for participation at «Wiki- week in Kyrgyzstan» and following trainings.
The purpose of competition is to advance and to promote virtual encyclopedia Wikipedia in Kyrgyzstan through support of youth and scientific initiatives and groups who post articles in Wikipedia.
Representatives of civil sector and the youth organizations are welcome to take part in competition, wishing to post articles in the virtual encyclopedia with the helpful information on Kyrgyzstan, and also web — developers developing and improving information technology in kg space.
Selected participants will take part in trainings with international expert in new media and Wikipedia from Prague. The presentation and training will pass in Bishkek from March, 28 till March, 30th, 2011 at the Kyrgyz National University named by Zhusup Balasagyn with the support of Faculty of Computer Technologies.
Competition requirements:
∙ Applications should be in either hard copy or electronic format;
∙ Essay «What I know about Wikipedia and how can I use it?» and CV of the applicant
∙ Applications will be accepted in Kyrgyz, Russian and English. Deadline: 17:00, March 20, 2011
